Alaska EPSCoR coordinates multiyear, collaborative research projects across the state. Here is a timeline of previous phases of Alaska EPSCoR.

 

 

 

Alaska EPSCoR Phase I 2001-2004

2001-2004 Focus:鈥 Cold regions engineering鈥 High-latitude environmentalcontaminants鈥 Environmental physiology

Alaska EPSCoR Phase II

2004-2007 Phase II focused on: 鈥 Cold regions engineering 鈥 Environmental physiology 鈥 Arctic population genetics

Alaska EPSCoR Phase III

2007-2012 Phase III focused on resilience and vulnerability of northern environments through disciplinary components linked by an interdisciplinary Integration Core: 鈥 Physical Science 鈥 Biology 鈥 Social Science

Alaskan Adapting to Changing Environments (ACE)

2012-2018 Phase IV, 鈥淎laskan Adapting to Changing Environments (Alaska ACE),鈥 focused on the adaptation of Alaskan communities to landscape and hydrologic change and consisted of regional components linked by a statewide coordinating group: 鈥 The Southeast Test Case 鈥 The Southcentral Test Case 鈥 The Northern Test Case

Fire & Ice

2018-2023 Phase V, 鈥淔ire and Ice,鈥 focuses on two crucial Alaskan ecosystems undergoing change: 鈥 A Boreal Fires Team studies changes to fire risk and behavior in Alaska鈥檚 boreal forest. 鈥 A Coastal Margins team examines changes to nearshore
