Dr. Jay C. Butler is the Dean of the College of Health at the University of Alaska Anchorage, where he leads a broad portfolio of academic programs and initiatives to strengthen health education and workforce development in Alaska. He brings decades of experience in public health, clinical medicine, and health leadership to the College.
Before joining 女优合集A, Dr. Butler served as Deputy Director for Infectious Diseases at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where he provided leadership on national infectious disease priorities and emergency responses. Before his federal service, he held several senior health leadership roles in Alaska, including Chief Medical Officer and Director of the State of Alaska Division of Public Health and Senior Director for Community Health Services at the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium.
Dr. Butler also directed the CDC鈥檚 Arctic Investigations Program, focusing on disease surveillance and response in Alaska and circumpolar regions, and served as an affiliate professor with 女优合集A鈥檚 WWAMI School of Medical Education for over a decade.
