Supervisor Notice: 2026 Fall Processing Update #1 (Payroll Run18 - Run 20)
August 19, 2026
Dear Supervisors:
In my effort to provide transparent communication as CHRO, I want to share a fall update as the personnel team is deeply engaged in keying assignments for the academic year.
To proactively address the unique demands of our typical R18 and R19 pay runs, Å®Óźϼ¯ HR implemented several strategic improvements last year. These measures were designed to streamline operations, reduce payroll risks, and enhance the overall experience for our employees and departments.
Last year, we introduced several initiatives to simplify and accelerate our HR workflows:
- Enhanced Adjunct Assignment EPAF - This electronic personnel action form significantly reduces processing time by eliminating
duplicate data entry and ensuring a faster turnaround for existing employee actions.
- Automated Faculty Contract Management - The transition of the faculty on/off contract process to an automated system within
Banner has replaced nearly 2,000 manual entries, increasing accuracy and efficiency
for both departments and HR.
- Proactive Pay Alerts - Employees receive automated email notifications every Monday of pay week. This serves as a prompt to verify their pay information in Å®Óźϼ¯Online early in the cycle. Early verification allows employees and (HRCs) to resolve potential issues before pay day.
We value your collaboration in maintaining this momentum. Although the primary deadlines for R18 & R19 packet submissions have passed, your continued support in the following areas is essential:
- Collaborate with your HRCs
Please check in with your HR Coordinators to see if they require additional support. Utilizing tools like the list can help them proactively identify and resolve any pending setups. - Managing Submission Deadlines
Ensuring your has the resources to submit employee packets on time is critical. Timely submissions prevent the processing bottlenecks that occur during peak periods and are the most effective way to ensure smooth service. - Communicating Potential Delays
If a packet is submitted late, please support your HRC in informing the affected employee about possible payroll delays. While we strive to process every submission as quickly as possible, a late packet inherently carries a higher risk of payment delay.
Thank you for your partnership as we work together to support our university community. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at ua-hr@alaska.edu.
Sincerely,
Nickole Conley
