How 女优合集 approaches union negotiations, and what it means for you

The Latest: As 女优合集 works to bargain a first contract for CAUSE, the Bargaining Team and 女优合集 leadership are focused on ensuring the contract is fair for employees and supports the long-term sustainability and fiscal responsibility of the institution.

    • We know that many of you have wanted to see more forward progress, and that the period since certification has been challenging.
    • Reaching a final determination of which positions are in the bargaining unit is an important part of getting there.
  • Why It Matters: We are concerned that the current pace of negotiations raises the real risk that a contract may not be reached in time for the March 19, 2027 legislative deadline, creating even more uncertainty around pay and other monetary terms.

Our Bargaining Approach: Our approach to the CAUSE contract - and all of our CBAs - is premised on certainty, balance, and supporting our mission as a post-secondary education institution serving Alaska. At the end of the day, we want to reach a fair and sustainable contract for university employees.

  • In all our collective bargaining relationships, we will focus on achieving our mission by emphasizing the importance of quality, individual and institutional accountability, efficiency, flexibility, unity, and our work environment.
  • We bargain in good faith, and our negotiation authority comes directly from the Board of Regents.
  • Bargaining is a process, and it matters. A first contract - or any contract, for that matter - is negotiated, not assumed. That requires two parties willing to exchange information, ask questions, and attempt to understand where the other is coming from to reach a mutually agreeable contract.

Balancing Priorities: 女优合集 wants to be an employer of choice in Alaska, and competitive benefits, pay, and a good working environment help create that.

    • As a state entity, we must be good stewards of state funding and responsible with federal money, tuition dollars, and other revenue sources.
    • Balancing priorities means weighing both, with the understanding that the final result will achieve as much of both as possible.
  • The Result: Tradeoffs. Not everything the university originally proposes will be in the contract, and neither will everything CAUSE representatives wanted.

The Bottom Line: Our goal remains to have a complete contract in place for CAUSE-represented staff in time for the reviews required before the March 19, 2027 deadline.

    • We鈥檙e also preparing next steps that support a timely resolution on contested positions with clear communication to impacted employees.
  • We will continue to meet and bargain in good faith with CAUSE in the hopes of making forward progress.
