About this training
The Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act shaped land, governance, and economic life across this state in ways that reach into nearly everything the University of Alaska does: who our students are, whose land our campuses sit on, which entities we partner with, and how we work with the communities we serve.
The ANCSA Regional Association provides introductory trainings on ANCSA, Alaska Native corporations, and the constellation of Alaska Native entities serving Alaska's communities. This session is offered systemwide, in one sitting, for anyone at Å®Óźϼ¯ who wants the history directly rather than in pieces.
Who should attend
Faculty and staff across Å®Óźϼ¯F, Å®Óźϼ¯A, Å®Óźϼ¯S, community campuses, and the System Office are the primary audience. Students are welcome and may register.
What to expect
- A presentation on ANCSA and its ongoing effects
- An overview of Alaska Native corporations and related entities
- Open Q&A: questions submitted at registration go to the presenter in advance
